Hair Loss Treatment, Online

Minoxidil-focused hair loss treatment — reviewed by licensed providers and delivered through appropriate pharmacy partners.

Male pattern hair loss is common, and treatment works best when started early. Affinity Direct's planned hair loss program is focused on minoxidil options reviewed by a licensed provider.

Understanding Male Pattern Hair Loss

Androgenetic alopecia — commonly called male pattern baldness — is the most common form of hair loss. It follows a predictable pattern: recession at the temples and thinning at the crown, eventually leaving a horseshoe-shaped fringe of hair. The process is driven by genetics and hormones.

Hair loss treatment works best when started early, before thinning becomes advanced. A provider review helps determine whether minoxidil is appropriate for your pattern of loss and health history.

Minoxidil: How It Works

Minoxidil works through a different mechanism: it is a vasodilator that increases blood flow to scalp follicles. By improving the supply of oxygen and nutrients, it extends the growth (anagen) phase of the hair cycle and stimulates follicles that have entered the dormant (telogen) phase.

FDA-approved for male pattern baldness since 1988, minoxidil is available OTC in 5% topical formulations. However, prescription-strength formulations (including oral low-dose minoxidil) may offer advantages in dosing and efficacy that a provider can discuss based on your specific pattern of loss.

Minoxidil typically produces visible results within 2–4 months. An initial "shedding phase" in the first 2–8 weeks is normal — it reflects follicles cycling from a dormant phase into active growth, temporarily releasing existing hairs. This is a sign the medication is working.

The planned Affinity Direct hair loss program is intentionally focused: minoxidil options only, reviewed by licensed providers.

What to Expect from Affinity Direct

Affinity Direct brings the same clinical rigor that drives our ED treatment platform to hair loss care. Here is what the process will look like when our hair loss program launches:

  • Short intake questionnaire — covering hair loss history, current pattern, family history, and any relevant health conditions or medications
  • Licensed provider review — a provider reviews your intake and determines whether minoxidil is appropriate for you
  • Prescription issued if appropriate — sent to our pharmacy partner and delivered discreetly to your door
  • Ongoing follow-up — check-ins to assess response and adjust your protocol as needed

Not every patient will be prescribed medication — provider judgment is final. Our goal is to provide the same quality of clinical evaluation you would receive at an in-person men's health clinic, without the waiting room.
